I'm not a republican now nor a democrat. I stand as an idependent. I am not what is so often referred to on this page as a "troll." I am just sick and tired of politicians making profits from killing. As far as I'm concerned they all have...
dare I say blood on their hands.
I welcome anyone to follow the money of all the major candidates and find one that doesn't have or has had some kind of connection to war profiteers. Hopefully Kucinich... but I haven't done all my homework on him yet.
Please don't automatically dismiss my point here---if those of us who want this war to end tonight --- those of us tired of hearing the wailing of grief stricken parents echoing through the dark night---those of us who hae experienced death up close and now how final it is and how cold it is--if we want the killing to stop then we must squarly face and name those who have profitted from the killing.
Now I apologize I am not a daily visitor to this site and it is very possible this has already been discussed. so forgive me---but I'm reacting to the NYTimes article that listed the investments Bill and Hillary Clinto liquidated. Now I know it was a "blind trust of stocks" blind if you don't peek and isn't that convenient. . . but also tell me what do you think when you read that they had investments of $250,000 to $500,000 in General Electric. General Electric---the number one Pentagon contractor. And then "$100,000 to $250,000 invested in Exxon Mobil and the same amount in Motorola another corporation making huge amounts from this war and past wars. Also $50,000 to $100,000 invested in BP Amoco and in Boeing.
I'm glad they liquidated the stock...it was the right thing to do. But the stock that they held speaks volumns. When I invest in anything ---including my underwear I try to be careful of where my money is going.
I know I will ber attacked for trying to make this point. But I'm tired of hearing those in power saying with one hand we are trying to end this war while they have blood dripping from the other hand that has been in the raking the money in from the war.
I'm tired of the pain---the tears---the mounting death toll on both sides while the politicians from both parties stand around as if their hands are tied together. And tomorrow the headlines will tell of more children killed.
